Up-Front No-Surprise
Loan Rates:
Customarily, lenders advertise "Rates As Low
As" and then the borrower applies for
the loan -- before finding out the actual
rate. We're going to try to be a
little different.
Rather
than have you apply for a loan "hoping"
to get the "As Low As" rate -- we will do
our best to give you an accurate estimate of
your actual rate -- in advance.
Most of
us have a good idea about whether our credit
history would fall into the: low;
average; or high risk category. With
that knowledge, and the below charts, you
should be able to better estimate your actual
loan rate (as well as your percent financing on
auto loans).
If you know your approximate FICO score -- you
should be able to "zero-in" even
closer. However, please remember the FICO
score that we pull (on the day you apply for the
loan) may be
different than the FICO score you previously
obtained. FICO scores change every time
your credit file is updated. The scores
also vary between the credit bureaus
(we use Experian), and, according to which FICO
score you received (there are different
versions). But all in all, your score and
our score should fall within the same low,
average, or high risk range.
We hope this information helps you make a more
informed borrowing decision.

*Note: Bankruptcy Risk Score: This
score uses statistics to measure your risk of
filing bankruptcy within the next few years. If
you would like to guesstimate your
bankruptcy risk, you may use the following to
get an “unofficial rough” estimate:
-
Low
Risk: Low credit card balance to
credit limit ratio (usually below 30%): no
delinquency; few inquiries or new accounts; long-term solid
credit history with more active than
inactive accounts.
-
Medium
Risk: Average credit card balance to
credit limit ratio (usually 30% to
+-60%); minor old small delinquencies;
only a few new inquires and/or charge
card/loan accounts; solid credit history --
but more older inactive accounts than
current active accounts.
-
High
Risk: High credit card balance to
credit limit ratio (usually over 60%): recent delinquencies;
excessive inquiries and/or new credit
cards/loans.
